Bonnie Doyle
I am in my 19th year of teaching for the school department. I began my teaching journey at Warwick Neck Elementary School as a special educator in their inclusion model. Due to caseload changes, I was able to co-teach in all grades during that time, with the majority of that time in grades 3-6. I spent the first eleven years at the Neck and enjoyed every minute. It is a special place I hold near and dear to my heart. It was a tough decision to leave, but I was ready for a new challenge. That is when I ended up at Lippitt, eight years ago, teaching grade six. When the school department made the change to the middle school model, I had a lot of thinking to do. When Mrs. Monzack announced her well deserved retirement, I knew what my answer was. Although it made me nervous, my excitement outweighed it. Third grade is the place I started with back when student teaching. Last year confirmed my love for this grade.
Your children will hear a lot about my family. My husband is also employed by the school department as a school psychologist at TollGate. He is going into his 18th year. My daughter, Olivia, is entering her junior year at Pilgrim High School, my old stomping grounds during my high school years. Paul, my son, will be starting sixth grade at Vets We have two dogs, Oreo the Havanese and Cleo the Portuguese Water Dog. My sister, Jessica Kenney, is a sixth grade teacher at Vets. She has two sons, my nephews, Aidan, grade 9, and Noah, grade 6. They all like to make appearances in the classroom, along with my mother.
It is clear I didn't stray far from Warwick. I actually live next door to my mother, just one house over from where I grew up.

I have been a Special Educator in the City of Warwick for over thirteen years. Prior to joining the Lippitt teaching staff, I served as a resource teacher, along with co-teaching opportunities. I am excited for the chance to co-teach exclusively this year!
Education has always been a priority for me. When my mother decided, in her early 30’s, to go Rhode Island College to earn her degree in teaching, I tagged along, essentially growing up on the Rhode Island College campus. I attended classes and countless summer programs. My mother became an elementary school principal shortly after beginning her teaching career, which gave me the chance to see her form indelible bonds with teachers and students at her school. They became my second family. I was inspired by the community she created in her school. It was only natural that I too would eventually become an educator.
Once I had my children, the timing was right for me to follow in my mother’s footsteps! I went to Rhode Island College, eventually earning my Master’s Degree in Education. My mother’s staff (family), including Mrs. Doyle, supported me the entire way and made my dream of becoming a teacher come true. After 12 years of teaching in the Warwick schools, my experience has come full circle as I now teach with Mrs. Doyle. I am truly honored to have the opportunity to educate your children with her.
I am sure you can tell my family means a lot to me. I have two wonderful girls, Camryn (17) and Allison (16). They will be part of many conversations and stories your children may hear! They will also likely hear about my husband Bob (comic relief!) and my Golden Retriever named Linda.
FUN FACT
Jill's mom, Ann Stratton, was Bonnie's first principal at Warwick Neck! Ann's wisdom is embedded into all that we do, personally and professionally. Our families have grown together and we are VERY happy to be teaching together all day long!
