Some things they are looking for are: cat toys, Friskies canned food, unscented kitty litter, hand soap, HE bleach, pellet litter, Purina kitten chow, Purina cat chow complete and paper towels.
- Hearts for Haiti: We are overwhelmed with the fundraising efforts for Mrs. Desilus's EACH program in Haiti. We raised $800 to help the children's education in Haiti. Thank you SO much for helping out.
- We hope you had a great time at Boys' Choice.
- Girls Choice: Friday, March 20th at the Valley Country Club. Pictures start at 6 PM and dinner at 7 PM. Invitations went home this week and you need to RSVP by March 13th. Please let us know if you need another one.
- The Lippitt survey is still open. The results help determine what we do well, and what we need to work on. The survey is open until March 31st. The website is: surveys.panoramaed.com/ride/login the password to use is: 35123family
- We took the district benchmark test this week. We need to finish the writing that goes with it next week. This test is beneficial because it mimics what they will be asked to do for the RICAS state testing.
- We started the Journeys story "Jump". It is a biography of Michael Jordan. We worked with vocabulary, spelling sounds "oi" and "oy", and comprehension questions. We will work more with the story skills next week because we used some of our ELA time for the benchmark test.
- The class logged on to a site called common lit. It is another way to practice reading a short text and responding to it. We read an article called "Spacewalk" and a poem called "The Dragonfly".
- We wrote a constructed response to the prompt "____is like a pot of gold because_____". This helped with our standard constructed response set up of main idea, three details and a concluding sentence. They came out adorable. They will be mailed home soon. Right now they are on display in the hallway.
- We wrote a narrative five paragraph piece for the prompt "If I Were a Leprechaun". The needed the following paragraphs: introduction, where they would live, what they would do for fun, what would they do with their gold, and a conclusion. The assignment and their work is posted in the google ELA classroom if you want to check it out.

- The two day week, we created a mathematical fraction picture that we will use for the upcoming unit of study.
- We took a dew extra days to work on double step problems involving four operations. This is a difficult skill that we will keep revisiting.
- We worked on collecting data then putting it into pictographs and bar graphs. We will be working on a project with this, while we take our assessment for this unit of study. We want the class to take their time with this project of asking a statistical question, gathering data and making a graph, so we will be working on it in small intervals. This way, we can continue with the curriculum we need to cover.
- The class continues to practice their multiplication facts and Zearn. It would be great if you could help them moving toward mastery.
- We completed the first three investigations dealing with force and motion. There wasn't a group experiment. We investigated using demonstrations in class. We demonstrated what gets an object in motion and what stops an object in motion.
- The class participated in a RI Kahoot. We are going to review Rhode Island locations, cities, and landmarks.
